Helping people to use PC applications
Kaj Kandler, founder of Conficio says, he developed Plan-B technology, when he realized how people struggle to use the software they bought. "I simply love to help people. I find myself constantly helping people to use their software." he remarks.
Kaj wondered why people are not using the tools provided by the publisher of the application. "They are useless, I never even try" is the most common answer, he gets from software users. Mr. Kandler saw the need for better documentation. He answered the call by creating an efficient screencast format for teaching software over the Internet and called it Plan-B technology. "If you can watch how it is done, it is so much easier to learn, than if you have to read help files or frequently answered questions. Written documentation requires a translation from a 'foreign' language into the graphical user interface of modern operating systems and that is a difficult task for the average user ", he says.
Kaj, co-founded 1997 Skyva International, a leader in business convergence, where he managed the quality assurance and release management group. At Skyva he patented methodologies and frameworks for business modeling and execution.
Kaj, former Development Manager at SAP Technologies, has 18 years in software development experience. He developed software as diverse as RS 232 protocol drivers, production planning for process industries, environmental, health & safety functions for chemical/pharmaceutical companies and graphical planning boards. Conficio calls on his background as SAP Consultant to understand the complexity of business software and the challenge to train people appropriately.
